The "MIND" of Mankind
Human Imagination - the source of Mankind's tremendous power.

Chapter  19

IN CONCLUSION

Perhaps seventy to one hundred thousand years (the time keeps changing as new evidence is discovered) have passed since the cast of the Homo Imaginative Sapiens has come onto the stage. It has been an exciting era for mankind. Starting with practically nothing except an powerful creative human imagination minfind has slowly groped its way through the darkness of ignorance. In some ways it has achieved great success in others it is still struggling. It will be interesting to see what will happen to us in the next forty thousand years (even the next one hundred).

The “MIND” has tremendous potential energy stirring in its people. This extremely powerful imaginative energy is capable of being influenced and focused by our storytellers and innovators. The focus of this energy can be directed in either a positive or negative way. The size of a “MIND” may vary from a single person, to a family, a team, a tribe, a specialized group of people, such as a business, a political or religious group, a nation, even the whole of mankind. Without focus the “MIND” is like a lump of iron, the energy of its particles randomly directed, just mulling around, its people unmotivated to a common cause, just carrying on everyday business. Sometimes when conditions are right, its storytellers can magnetize this lump of iron and turn it into a powerful bar magnet with all its energy focused on a common cause. (either good or bad)

In the past ages, a lot of mankind’s restless energy, has been used constructively such as building new towns and cities, the great pyramids, the wall of China, etc.. It also has been used in imaginative ways such as; philosophizing, inventing and developing new machines and tools, painting, sculpting, scientific reasoning, etc.. Too much of this energy unfortunately, has been directed toward destructive mayhem, such as all the wars, battles, plundering and pillaging that have taken place throughout its history. For the good of mankind, it is up to our storytellers to harness this potential energy and direct it in a positive direction. It is a mighty force that needs constant positive guidance.

Germany is a good example of the immense strength the energy of mankind can achieve when it is focused on a common cause, (in this case in a very negative cause). In the 1920s the “Mind” of Germany was like a big lump of iron, the energy of its people just mulling around, it had no direction. The country had just lost a devastating war, and gone through a period of hyperinflation. There were many storytellers trying to capture the imagination of the “Mind”, to get the country going in one direction or the other.

One of these storytellers was Hitler. This very determined political radical storyteller, with his small band of followers, began telling their story. It was a story that appealed to many of the German people. Their story soon began to align the energy of some of the people with their cause. As these storytellers influenced more and more people with their stories, the energy became stronger and more focused. Finally after many stories and much intimidation by Hitler’s private militia, the energy of the whole “MIND” of Germany was aligned, like a immense strong bar magnet, in one direction (unfortunately a very negative direction). It was toward; terrible mayhem, war, annihilation and destruction. It was nearly an unstoppable force of energy that cost tens of millions of lives. It took the concentrated energy of the rest mankind to contain it.

Another closely related example was; when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. This one event, immediately focused the total energy of the “Mind of America” to fight this aggressor. In one fell swoop our country had been transferred from a lump of iron into an extremely powerful bar magnet that culminated in the development of the atom bomb and the defeat of the Axis Powers. These are just a couple of examples that show the immense power that the energy of the “Mind” can achieve when it is focused. The Mind of Mankind is brimming with restless imaginative energy. Its potential is always there, waiting for direction. We had better aim it in a positive direction. It is up to our storytellers to guide it.

Just to show the importance of the concept of the idea of an imagination, here are some other closely related words in our English language that also mean, “to form a mental image”: - to visualize, to learn, to reason, to think, to wonder, to ponder, to theorize, to realize, to perceive, to conceive, to understand, to pretend, to invent, to design, to envision, to daydream, to fantasize, to picture, to create, to contemplate, to calculate, to plan, to speculate, to deduce, to compose, to comprehend, to anticipate, to philosophize, to surmise, to associate, insight, idea, conjecture, inspiration, perception, cognizance, concept. All these words have to do with forming a mental image. This is what we humans do best.

By giving us an imagination, our Creator has given each one of us a very Special Gift. Human Imagination is mankind's Seventh sense. Sight, hearing, tasting, feeling, touching, balance Only through this extremely powerful seventh sense can people perceive our Creator's existence and the wonders he has created. Nature has allowed our brain to physically evolve to a size where it can handle the immense amount of new mental activity that we will experience with this powerful new capability. It is up to everyone of us to make use of and to enjoy this gift to the fullest extent possible. By getting to imagine the existence of our creator we can love and thank him for theblessings he has given us. We can ask for his guidance and protection. We cannot antagonize him in any way, no matter how hard we try since we are too insignificant and besides, he created us exactly the way he wanted to. We are already very special in his eyes. That is enough. Imagination is a special gift from our Creator, we should learn to appreciate and enjoy it. Some of the ways we can enjoy Our Special Gift are by perceiving and appreciating the wonders that surround us. By looking up toward the sky on a clear, dark, moonless night, (so dark that we cannot see our hands in front of us) far away from the city lights. We can stand among the far off stars sparkling in a panorama of the darkness, completely immersed in our Creator's universe.

We can imagine “spaceship Earth”, sailing through the heavens. If we do this around October 3 at midnight (180 degrees opposite the sun's position) we will be looking right down the forward path that our little solar family is traveling. We can learn about his all powerful laws that govern everything in the universe, how they are intricately interwoven, complementing each other, extending everywhere across the universe.

We can enjoy the sweet smell of fresh unpolluted air that has brushed across the oceans, crossed the mountains and picked up the delicate fragrance of the forests and fields of wild flowers. Enjoy perceiving, in color, our environment and the exquisite intricate designs of the countless animals and plants he has created. Enjoy the beautiful music, paint-ings and all the other forms of art that he has allowed our composers and artists to create and our minds to comprehend. Enjoy the fruits of our imagination and the high standard of living it has allowed us to achieve.

Soon we will be able to “travel” in a three dimensional virtual world to anywhere we can imagine. We will be able to walk down the streets of ancient civilizations, walk among the dinosaurs in their lands, travel to other planets. We do this already with books and motion pictures but this virtual world will be much more realistic.

We can develop our own creative imagination and create something that will benefit the world. Through our imagination our Creator has revealed himself to us and has allowed us above all the other animals to know a small part of him. We are very special beings in his eyes. It is up to each one of us to use and enjoy this gift in our own unique way.

The transformation of mankind was the final evolution of our brain, a tremendously powerful force was released on this little planet of ours. The Mind of Mankind, a life form that human imagination came into being. At the time it was totally insignificant event. The planet didn't shake, the heavens didn't roar, none of the other animals noticed anything different. It was similar to the mutation of a few cells in some remote corner of our body. A potentially deadly development.

For thousands of years the population of mankind multiplied and became, a smarter, more powerful force. Eventually mankind began to make itself known, the survival of the other animals began to come into question. Their habitats were destroyed, some of them were hunted to extinction, the environment suffered. The people, like the cancer cells required more and more space and food to feed their ever increasing numbers. If allowed to continued in this manner they will both eventually overwhelm their respective hosts.

There is one critical difference between the cancer cells of the body and the people of mankind. The cancer cells have no imagination, they will go on multiplying until they kill their host and ultimately destroy themselves. The Mind of Mankind however, has the power to act in its own behalf. Imagination has given us the power to control our own destiny. Our Creator has challenged us and also given us the means to meet this challenge. By asking for his guidance, and the determination to use our gift to its fullest, we may be able to meet his challenge.

The Universal Imaginative "MIND" of Mankind. It is inconceivable to me that our little speck of space dust (the Earth) harbors the only life in the Universe. To me, it much more likely that life thrives throughout the Universe, on suitable planets, in various stages of evolution, all with the goal of finally evolving into an “Imaginative Mind”. Our species, the Homo Imaginative Sapiens, is the imaginative “MIND” on planet Earth.

There could possibly be “Universal Imaginative "MIND” - a vast complex of “MINDs” that inhabit suitable planets throughout the entire universe. The "MIND" of Mankind is just a tiny part of this Universal Mind whose proto-seed became established on Earth, when it became habitable around four billion years ago. The proto-seed, also probably landed on the other planets of our solar system but since they were not suitable, nothing happened.

The seeds of the Universal Mind drift throughout the universe as microscopic bits of DNA-like protoseeds. When these embryonic bits of life happen to land on a suitable host planet they settle down and if they are successful, began to reproduce themselves. They began to transform the host planet into an environment and atmosphere that is suitable for the evolution of life. For four billion years or so, these early life forms slowly evolved into ever more complex higher life forms, evolving into viruses, bacteria, single cell plants, multicell plants and animals, insects, birds, dinosaurs, reptiles, mammals, etc..

Some became extinct, others survived the ages, eventually filling the planet with a tremendous diversity of life. They filled the host planet with millions of plants and animals that will take care of every possible need of the “MIND”. The “MIND” will be able to make use of millions of delicious foods, spices, herbs and medicines from the immense diversity of these plants and animals that are made available for it and even create new goodies through genetic engineering. Plenty of plant and fossil fuels were created for its energy needs (enough until it can harness other sources of energy).

Finally, when all this was ready and a life form, suitable for harboring an imaginative “MIND” had evolved to the point of ignition, the final cells and connections were created in its brain and another “MIND” (just like a star) flashed into existence. Just as a protostar automatically ignites (a fusion reaction begins) when its mass/energy reaches a certain critical point, to become a brilliant star shining in the heavens, so to does life, after billions of years of evolving on a planet, to a certain critical point, “ignite” into a “MIND”. An entity that can perceive its Creator and his wonders, an entity that has control over its own destiny. On planet Earth, forty thousand years ago, life had reached this stage. The “Mind of Mankind” was born.

Another “Mind” had taken its place in the universe. Their are probably billions of these “Minds” sprinkled throughout the universe. All have received their Special Gift from the Creator. All “Minds” have a common source and are part of the Universal Imaginative "MIND", an entity perhaps as old as the universe itself. The Universal Imaginative "Mind" is an extension of God’s creativity and the soul of mankind here on Earth. Most of these "MINDS" have survived for their full life cycle, others may have exploited their host planet beyond its resources and became extinct before their time. Which course will Earth’s "MIND" choose to follow?
